Be teachableDo you show up in business, in life, in your head?  Showing up can make the difference between becoming successful, or having a life filled with mediocrity.

I work with a private and very exclusive entrepreneurial organization. Not everyone can become a member, mainly because of the price. This is because we want to maintain the quality of our membership.  However, we have a program, that allows anyone who would like to become a member, learn to raise the funds to attend.  The benefits are endless:  High quality connections, access to top mentors for an entire week, without paying any additional costs, trade show, the ability to do presentations in your hotel room, investors, etc.

Many of our greatest success stories have been those who have become a part of the program. They were temporarily cash free (as many are these days).  One such fellow had no money and no business sense.  He enrolled in our program and now raises millions of dollars on a regular basis. He showed up and engaged himself.  There are tons just like him. We have many people enroll in this program.  It has a 95% success rate for those who play full out and allow themselves to be teachable.  Those who show up, succeed.  Those who do not, or only show up when they feel like it, usually don’t.  It is all about being accountable and following simple directions. The program is free to get started.  We require a $500 deposit to work one on one with a top coach.  You would be surprised at how many struggle to get that first $500.  Did they do a garage sale or something similar?  No.  They just sit there wondering why they can’t come up with $500, complain about the price, and make every excuse in the book not to become a member.  Those who succeed make huge headway in their businesses. Our organization is not for everyone. The point is, the simple act of showing up, makes the difference.

I personally rose to the top 2% of a direct sales company, a while back, because I showed up, was teachable and accountable.  It was not because I was the smartest cookie in the jar.  Far from it.  I  did what I was told and didn’t make excuses.  It was something that I wanted to accomplish, at the time, and I did. I also, eventually earned 3 cars, doing the exact same process. When you want something bad enough, you will do what it takes to get it.

Showing up means you are committed.  If you are committed, you can’t pussy foot around. You can’t show up late and leave early or come whenever you feel like it. Otherwise, you become a taker. Show up, be on time, stay late and take action.

There is nothing we cannot accomplish if we show up.  It is all about our deserve level.

My favorite T.Harv Eker quote is as follows:

Rich people believe

You can have your cake and eat it too.

Middle-class people believe

Cake is too rich, so I’ll only have a little piece.

Poor people don’t believe they deserve cake,

so they order a doughnut, focus on the hole,

and wonder why they have nothing.
